Crunchy Air Fryer Ranch Chickpeas
I am a chronic three in the afternoon snacker, and I have spent years bouncing between a sad handful of crackers and a fistful of chocolate chips straight from the bag. These crunchy air fryer ranch chickpeas are the snack that finally feels like an actual win.
They are crispy, salty, a little ranchy, and packed with protein and fiber, which means I am not starving again twenty minutes later. The kids think they are a treat, and I am not going to correct them.

Why the air fryer wins here
The air fryer gets chickpeas shatteringly crisp in a fraction of the time the oven takes, and it does it without heating up the whole kitchen, which matters a lot in July. Circulating hot air hits every side, so you get that satisfying crunch all the way through instead of the chewy centers you sometimes get from roasting.
What you need
A can of chickpeas, a little olive oil, and ranch seasoning. That is genuinely the whole list. You can use a packet or stir up your own with dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, and a little salt.
An air fryer is the star, obviously, and a stack of small snack containers makes it easy to portion them out for lunchboxes and car rides.

How to make them
Drain and rinse the chickpeas, then dry them really well with a towel. This is the step people skip and then wonder why they are not crispy. Toss with a little oil, air fry at 390 for about twelve to fifteen minutes, shaking the basket halfway. Once they are golden and crunchy, toss them with the ranch seasoning right away so it sticks.
Keeping them crunchy
They are best the day you make them, but they hold for a couple days in a container left slightly open, not sealed tight, so they do not go soft. Honestly they rarely last that long around here.
The takeaway
A good snack can change the whole back half of your day. These are easy, cheap, and the kind of thing that actually keeps you full. If you have a favorite seasoning combo, tell me in the comments, I am always reinventing my afternoon snack.
So glad you are here.
Pam
