A Bathroom Refresh for Under One Hundred Dollars
You do not need a renovation budget to have a bathroom you feel good in. I refreshed my guest bathroom last year for right around one hundred dollars and the difference was significant enough that guests actually comment on it. Here is exactly what I did and what it cost.
New Towels: Around $30
I replaced the old mismatched towels with a set of matching towels in a warm neutral. Instantly cohesive and hotel-like. I went with a Turkish cotton set from Amazon that has held up beautifully through many washes. Turkish cotton towel sets on Amazon.
A New Bath Mat: Around $20
A fresh bath mat in the same neutral family as the towels pulls it all together. I looked for something with a little texture so it felt more interesting than a plain flat mat. I found a beautiful woven option through ShopMy but Amazon has great options too. Bath mats on Amazon.
Bamboo Accessories: Around $25
A matching set of bamboo accessories, soap dispenser, toothbrush holder, and a small tray, makes the countertop look cohesive and intentional. The natural material adds warmth and works with almost any color scheme. Bamboo bathroom sets on Amazon.
A New Shower Curtain: Around $25
If your shower curtain is more than a year old, replace it. A fresh linen-look or waffle weave curtain is the biggest visual change in the room. I already covered my favorites in depth but even a simple white cotton curtain is a massive upgrade over a dingy old one. Shower curtains on Amazon.
Total: Around $100
New towels, bath mat, accessories, and shower curtain. That is it. Four categories of purchase and the bathroom went from tired to refreshed. No contractor, no tile, no drama.
Bonus Touches That Cost Almost Nothing
Clear out anything expired from the medicine cabinet and under the sink. Wipe down all the surfaces and polish the fixtures. Add a small plant or a single stem in a bud vase on the counter. Put a candle on the edge of the tub. These cost nothing and make the space feel intentional and cared for.
A bathroom refresh does not have to be a project. Sometimes it just takes a Saturday afternoon and a hundred dollars to make a space feel completely new. Tell me in the comments if you try this and what you changed.
xo, Pam
