Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

I genuinely cannot remember the last time I ordered beef and broccoli from a takeout place because this homemade version has fully replaced it. It is faster than delivery, costs a fraction of the price, and tastes so much better. The sauce is savory and a little sweet with that hint of ginger that just makes everything taste like a real restaurant meal.

The trick that changed everything for me is tossing the beef in a little cornstarch before cooking. It creates this velvety texture that coats the meat perfectly and helps the sauce cling to it. Game changer. And if you freeze the beef for about 20 minutes before slicing it gets so much easier to cut thin.

Tips for Stir Fry Success

High heat is the whole secret to a good stir fry. You want the pan screaming hot before anything goes in. This gives you that slightly charred, restaurant-style flavor. Do not be scared of the smoke. That is just flavor happening.

Also have everything prepped and ready before you start cooking. Stir fry moves fast and there is no time to be measuring sauce while the beef is in the pan. Have it all ready to go and it will come together so smoothly.

If you want to upgrade your stir fry setup, I cook mine in a good wok. Heads up, some of these are affiliate links, which just means I get a tiny commission at no cost to you. Find a carbon steel wok on Amazon for the best results.
