Best Lip Products for Dry Lips (That Actually Stay On)

I have chronically dry lips. It does not matter how much water I drink or how many lip masks I use, I will always need a dedicated lip routine. Over the years I have figured out exactly what works, what is mostly hype, and what I actually reach for every single day. If you deal with dry, flaky, or peeling lips, this one is for you.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

This is the one everyone talks about and the hype is fully justified. I put it on every single night before bed and in the morning my lips are genuinely soft and plump in a way nothing else achieves. It has a subtle berry scent and a thick but not sticky texture. The one tube lasts a really long time because you do not need much. You can find it at Sephora or through Amazon.

Dior Addict Lip Glow

This is my daytime go-to when I want a little color but mostly just hydration. The lip glow formula reacts to your lip’s natural pH to give you a personalized tint, so it looks different on everyone. It is moisturizing, long-wearing, and feels like a balm not a lipstick. At around $38 it is a splurge for a lip product but I have repurchased it multiple times. Find it at Sephora or on Amazon.

e.l.f. Sheer Slick Lipstick

For days when I want a little more color without drying my lips out, this e.l.f. formula is genuinely excellent. It is sheer, moisturizing, and gives a pretty wash of color for under $10. I keep one in my bag at all times. Available at Ulta and on Amazon.

Aquaphor Lip Repair

Sometimes the best product is the simplest one. Aquaphor Lip Repair is my midday rescue when my lips are really suffering. It is not glamorous but it heals dry cracked lips faster than anything else I have tried. I keep one in my car and one on my nightstand as a backup. Find it everywhere including Amazon.

Rare Beauty Kind Words Lip Liner

If you want your lip color to actually stay on through the day, line your lips first. This Rare Beauty liner is creamy, does not drag or skip, and layers beautifully under any lip product. It also keeps lipstick from bleeding. A game changer for longer wear. Find it at Sephora or Amazon.

A Note on Exfoliation

Once or twice a week I gently exfoliate my lips with a damp washcloth or a very gentle lip scrub before applying any product. This removes the flaky skin so everything applies more smoothly and stays on better. Do not overdo it though, over-exfoliating makes dryness worse.

What is your holy grail lip product for dry lips? Tell me in the comments, I am always looking for something new to try.

So glad you are here. xo, Pam
