The Capsule Wardrobe Pieces I Keep Reaching For
I have tried the full capsule wardrobe approach multiple times and always landed somewhere in the middle. Not a minimalist, but definitely someone who has realized that most of my favorite outfits come from about fifteen pieces that I just rotate. Here are the ones I actually keep reaching for, not just the ones that look good on a Pinterest board.
Heads up, some of these are affiliate links, which just means I get a tiny commission at no cost to you.
The White Tee That Washes Well
This sounds so boring but I mean it. A truly good quality white tee is the backbone of everything. The classic white tees on Amazon have some solid options if you read the reviews for thickness and shrinkage. I look for something with a little weight to it so it does not go see-through after one wash.
Straight Leg Jeans in a Medium Wash
Not too dark, not too light. A medium wash straight leg jean goes with literally everything. I wear mine with sneakers, mules, ankle boots, and sandals. The straight leg jeans on Amazon have some great affordable options, and if you have the budget for it, Madewell straight jeans are worth the investment.
A Neutral Linen Blazer
This is the piece that elevated my whole wardrobe without me having to try very hard. Throw it over a tank and jeans, over a sundress, over literally anything, and you immediately look more put together. The linen blazer for women on Amazon is a great starting point and usually under fifty dollars.
A Midi Dress in a Solid Color
The midi dress is working overtime in my wardrobe right now. One dress, a hundred different ways to wear it. With a denim jacket, with heels, with sneakers, belted. I look for simple silhouettes in solid colors so they are easy to accessorize.
Classic White Sneakers
Already talked about these in their own post but they belong here too. They are truly the universal pairing piece.
Which pieces do you reach for most? Drop them in the comments, I love hearing what other people swear by.
So glad you are here. Pam
