My Honest Thoughts on the Charlotte Tilbury Collection

Charlotte Tilbury was one of those brands I was hesitant about for a long time. The price points are high and the marketing is so glamorous that I was skeptical anything could actually live up to it. Then I got a few pieces as gifts and suddenly I understood the hype. But I also want to be honest, because not everything in the collection is equally worth it.

Here is my real take on the Charlotte Tilbury products I have actually used.

Hollywood Flawless Filter: Worth Every Penny

This is genuinely one of my all-time favorite products from any brand at any price. I use it mixed into my foundation, alone as a base, or as a highlighter on my cheekbones. It gives skin this luminous glow that photographs beautifully and makes you look well-rested even when you are not. At around $46 it stings but I keep repurchasing it. Find it at Sephora or on Amazon.

Pillow Talk Lipstick: The Iconic One

If you have heard of Charlotte Tilbury, you have probably heard of Pillow Talk. It is that perfect my-lips-but-better pink-nude that works on almost everyone. I was resistant because it felt overhyped but honestly it is overhyped because it is genuinely that good. The formula is comfortable, long-wearing, and the color is perfection. Available at Sephora and Amazon.

Magic Cream Moisturizer: Skip It

I know this is a beloved cult product and I wanted to love it. But at $100 for 50ml, it did not outperform my CeraVe or even my Tatcha moisturizer at a lower price point. It felt nice, smelled beautiful, and did absolutely nothing special for my skin. I did not repurchase. Honest opinion: there are better moisturizers for less money.

Pillow Talk Eye Shadow Palette

The Pillow Talk shade family in palette form is just as lovely as the lipstick. Soft pinks, mauves, and warm neutrals that are all completely wearable. The formula blends easily and the packaging is beautiful. It is a splurge but if you love the Pillow Talk color family this is a great way to get the whole look. Check Sephora or Amazon.

Airbrush Flawless Foundation: Pretty Good

I did not expect to like this as much as I do. The coverage is buildable, the finish is semi-matte and very natural, and it lasts well through a full day. It is not my everyday foundation because I tend to grab something faster in the morning, but when I want a polished full-coverage look it delivers. Available at Sephora and Amazon.

My Honest Summary

Charlotte Tilbury is a genuinely good brand with some products that are absolutely worth the splurge, specifically the Flawless Filter and the Pillow Talk line. But it is not a brand where everything is worth the price. Pick your hero pieces and do not feel obligated to go all in. The hype is real for certain things and completely overblown for others.
