Frozen Strawberry Margaritas
Is there anything more summer than a frozen strawberry margarita sweating in your hand on a hot afternoon? I do not think so. This is my official drink of backyard hangouts, taco nights, and any occasion that ends with the words let us sit outside. It is sweet, it is tart, it is slushy, and it tastes like vacation even when you are very much standing in your own kitchen in Kansas City.
The beauty of this one is that the blender does literally everything. No fancy bar skills required. You toss in frozen strawberries, tequila, lime, and ice, hit blend, and suddenly you are the hostess with the most. I love serving these in salt rimmed glasses with a strawberry perched on the edge so everyone feels a little fancy.

The frozen strawberry trick
Use frozen strawberries, not fresh. I know it feels backwards, but frozen berries keep your margarita thick and slushy without watering it down the way a ton of ice would. You get that perfect spoonable, sippable texture every time. It is the little thing that makes a big difference.

Want a mocktail version?
I always like to have a no booze option so everyone can join in, especially since I am pregnant right now and very much on team mocktail. Just leave out the tequila and orange liqueur and add a splash of orange juice and a little extra lime. Blend it up the same way and you have got a gorgeous frozen strawberry limeade that the whole crew, kids included, can enjoy. Celebratory and inclusive, just how I like it.

Notes
Cheers to easy summer hosting
Make a double batch, set out the salt and limes, and let everyone build their own. These are the kind of drinks that turn an ordinary evening into the good kind of memory. Here is to slow summer nights.
So glad you are here.
