How I Style Athleisure to Look Put-Together

Athleisure is one of those things that can look amazing or can look like you just rolled out of bed, depending on how you approach it. I wear some version of it almost every day as a mom who is also trying to feel like a human being, and I have figured out the tricks that make the difference.

Heads up, some of these are affiliate links, which just means I get a tiny commission at no cost to you.

Start With a Matching Set

The single biggest thing you can do to elevate athleisure is wear a matching set. A coordinating sports bra and leggings in the same color or print instantly looks more intentional than mixing and matching. The matching athletic sets on Amazon have some genuinely stylish options, and brands like Alo and Vuori make sets that look as good off the gym floor as on it.

The Oversized Hoodie or Sweatshirt Layer

An oversized hoodie over leggings is a formula I use constantly. The key is keeping the rest of your look clean. White sneakers, simple jewelry, a good bag. The oversized hoodies on Amazon are great and usually under thirty dollars.

Elevate With Your Shoes

Shoes change everything in an athleisure look. Clean white sneakers, a cute platform sneaker, or even a low slide elevates leggings and a tank into an actual outfit. Avoid anything too worn or dirty looking, because it tips the whole look from intentional to sloppy.

Add a Structured Bag

A structured bag is the fastest way to make athletic wear look like an outfit. A mini crossbody, a tote, or even a good belt bag completely changes the vibe. The belt bags on Amazon are incredibly popular right now and are perfect for the athleisure aesthetic.

Keep the Jewelry Simple but Present

Small gold hoops, a delicate necklace, a simple bracelet. You do not need a lot of jewelry with athleisure but having some makes a visible difference. It signals that you made choices rather than just grabbing whatever was on the floor.

So glad you are here. Pam
