Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Latte
Let me be honest with you. I have spent an embarrassing amount of money on iced brown sugar oat milk lattes from a certain green logo coffee shop. They are my little treat, my reward for surviving a chaotic morning, my excuse to leave the house. But somewhere along the way I realized I could make a version at home that is just as good, for about a tenth of the price, in my pajamas. Game changer.
The whole thing comes together with a simple homemade brown sugar cinnamon syrup, your favorite espresso or strong coffee, and creamy oat milk poured over plenty of ice. It is cozy and a little sweet and somehow still feels like a special treat even though you barely did anything. As a pregnant mom currently navigating my caffeine limits, I will also say it is very easy to make this decaf and still feel fancy.

Make the syrup once, sip all week
The secret weapon here is that brown sugar syrup. Make a little jar of it on Sunday and your weekday lattes come together in literally thirty seconds. It keeps beautifully in the fridge, and honestly it is delicious drizzled over a lot more than coffee.

Ingredients
Method
- In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, water, and cinnamon. Heat over medium, stirring, until the sugar dissolves and it simmers for about 2 minutes. Let cool.
- Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of the brown sugar syrup to a glass and swirl it around the sides.
- Fill the glass with ice, then pour in the oat milk.
- Slowly pour the espresso over the top so it layers beautifully. Stir before sipping.
Notes
Make it your own
No espresso machine? No problem. Strong brewed coffee or a little instant espresso dissolved in hot water works perfectly. You can also adjust the syrup to be more or less sweet depending on your mood. This is your coffee shop now, and you are the barista.
So glad you are here.
xo, Pam
