Jalapeno Popper Dip
If you bring this dip to a party you will never be allowed to show up empty-handed again. That is both a compliment and a warning. Jalapeno Popper Dip is exactly what it sounds like, all the flavors of a jalapeno popper in one warm bubbly cheesy situation that absolutely destroys a bowl of tortilla chips.
This is my game day staple, my holiday party contribution, my answer to any potluck. It gets requested constantly.
Heat Level Control
The jalapenos are where you control how spicy this gets. Remove all the seeds and membranes for a mild dip with just a hint of pepper flavor. Leave some seeds in for medium. Leave all of them in and add an extra jalapeno if you want real heat. I usually go medium because I want everyone to be able to eat it, but I make a little personal serving on the side with extra seeds.
The Crispy Panko Top
Do not skip the panko breadcrumb topping mixed with melted butter. It gets golden and crispy in the oven and provides the best texture contrast against the creamy dip underneath. It is the detail that elevates this from good to absolutely incredible.
Make Ahead
Assemble the whole dip up to a day ahead, cover and refrigerate, then bake when you need it. Add an extra 5-10 minutes to the bake time if going straight from cold. This is such a stress-saver when you are hosting.
I serve this with thick restaurant-style tortilla chips that can hold up to a heavy scoop. Heads up, some of these are affiliate links, which just means I get a tiny commission at no cost to you.
