Seared Tuna with Sesame Crust

This is the dinner that feels like a fancy restaurant night but takes literally 15 minutes. Seared Tuna with Sesame Crust is restaurant-style sesame-crusted tuna seared rare and sliced thin over greens — elegant, light, and genuinely impressive every time.

Why You’ll Love This

  • Ready in 15 min — one of the fastest impressive dinners you can make
  • Feels like a date night meal on a regular Tuesday
  • Simple ingredients you can find at a good KC grocery store or fish market
  • Low carb, high protein, and genuinely delicious

Ingredients

  • Sushi-Grade Tuna
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Soy Sauce
  • Ginger
  • Wasabi
  • Mixed Greens

How to Make It

  1. Press sesame seeds onto all sides of the tuna steak firmly so they adhere well.
  2. Get your skillet screaming hot with just a touch of oil — high heat is the key to a good crust.
  3. Sear for 30-45 seconds per side. You want rare in the center — do not overcook it.
  4. Slice thin against the grain and serve immediately over greens with soy-ginger dipping sauce.

What I Use: A well-seasoned Cast Iron Skillet is essential for the crust on this one — nothing holds heat like cast iron.
