Stadium Bag Essentials for World Cup Match Day
The right bag, packed the right way, can make or break your match day. Pack too little and you are miserable, pack too much and you are lugging a brick around in the heat, and pack the wrong bag entirely and you get turned away at the gate. Let me save you from all three.
Here is exactly what goes in my bag for a World Cup match at Arrowhead.

First, the right bag itself
Big stadiums almost always require a clear bag, so do not get caught out. A stadium approved clear bag gets you through security fast and it works for concerts and Chiefs games too. Check the exact size rules before you go, but clear is the safe bet.
Water, water, water
Most venues let you bring an empty reusable bottle to fill inside, so pack a collapsible water bottle that takes up no room going in. Staying hydrated in our June heat is genuinely the most important thing on this list.
Sun protection
Travel size sunscreen, a lip balm with SPF, and your sunglasses are non negotiable for hours in open seats. Reapply the sunscreen at halftime, because the back of your neck will thank you tomorrow.

A portable charger
Your phone is your ticket, camera, and ride home, and it will drain fast. A slim portable charger and a short cable mean you are never stranded with a dead phone after the final whistle. I consider this a hard requirement now.
Cooling and comfort extras
A little handheld fan and a cooling towel sound extra until you are sitting in full sun, and then they feel like genius. A light layer for evening matches and a few napkins or wipes round things out.
The little just in case kit
Tuck in a small amount of cash, a card, an ID, any meds you need, a couple of bandages, and some pain reliever. None of it takes up space, and one of these always saves the day for someone in your group.
The takeaway
Pack a clear stadium bag with water, sun protection, a charger, a few cooling extras, and a tiny just in case kit, and you are set for a long, hot, wonderful match day. Prepared is the new cute, and honestly it is the difference between enduring the day and loving it.
Pack smart and enjoy every minute. xo, Pam
