Summer Beauty I Am Actually Obsessed With (Splurge and Save)
Every summer I tell myself I am going to keep my routine simple, and every summer I end up with a drawer full of half tested products and one true love I reach for until it runs out. So instead of giving you the whole drawer, I am giving you the love. These are the summer beauty things I am actually obsessed with right now, the ones that survive Kansas City humidity and a face that refuses to wear foundation past May.
Heads up, some of these are affiliate links, which just means I get a tiny commission at no cost to you. I only point you toward stuff I would tell my own group chat about.

The SPF I will actually reapply
I have finally accepted that the best sunscreen is the one you do not hate putting on. Supergoop Glowscreen SPF 40 gives this lit from within glow that works as a primer, so it does not feel like one more step, it feels like the good step. It is the splurge, but it is the one I repurchase without flinching.
If you want the protection without the price, keep a no nonsense mineral face sunscreen in your bag for reapplying through the day. Glow for the morning, workhorse for the touch ups. Both, not either.

The bronzer doing the most
Summer is the one season my face wants warmth instead of a full beat. The Rare Beauty Warm Wishes bronzer stick swipes on with your fingers, melts in, and looks like you spent a weekend somewhere with a pool instead of in your minivan. It is buildable, so you cannot really overdo it, which is exactly what I need at 7am.
For the no makeup makeup days, a drugstore cream bronzer stick tossed in the car door does the same job for a fraction of the cost. I keep one within armโs reach of the carpool line.
Glossy, tinted, low effort lips
The blurry, glossy lip is everywhere this summer and I am not mad about it. A Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm gives that juicy tint and actually treats your lips instead of drying them out by noon. It lives in my pocket from June through August.
If you would rather try the trend before you commit, a budget tinted lip oil gives you the same glassy finish for under fifteen dollars. Buy two, lose one immediately, that is the way of the lip product.

The takeaway
Summer beauty does not need to be complicated. A glowy SPF, a warm bronzer, and a tinted lip will get you out the door looking like you tried, even on the days you very much did not. Splurge where it earns it, save where it does not, and stop buying things you will not reach for.
What is your ride or die summer product right now? Drop it in the comments, my cart always has room.
