Things I Am Doing Differently This Pregnancy
Every pregnancy is different, and this one has already taught me things about myself that I did not expect. Some of those lessons are practical, some are emotional, and some are just me finally listening to advice I should have taken the first time around.
Here are the things I am consciously doing differently this time, and the things that have made the biggest difference so far.
Actually Using the Pregnancy Pillow
I resisted this for longer than I should have. It seemed like overkill. It is not overkill. The difference in sleep quality since I started using a proper full-body pregnancy pillow is genuinely significant. I wake up less, I feel less stiff in the morning, and my hips do not ache the way they were before. This is not optional anymore. Get the pillow.
Taking My Prenatal Vitamins Consistently
I know, I know. But consistency matters and I was not great at it before. This time I have a specific prenatal vitamin I love, I keep them next to the coffee maker, and I take them every single morning without thinking about it. I found a prenatal vitamin with DHA that does not make me nauseous, which was the main reason I was inconsistent before.
Moisturizing My Belly Every Single Day
I started early this time and I have been religious about it. Whether or not belly butter actually prevents stretch marks is genuinely debated, but it keeps my skin comfortable as it stretches and that matters. I have been using a belly butter with shea and cocoa twice a day and my skin has been much less itchy and uncomfortable than it could be.
Letting Myself Rest Without Guilt
This one is less about a product and more about a mindset shift. I am not trying to do everything at the same pace I did before. When I am tired, I am sitting down. When I need a nap, I am taking one. This took real effort to accept, but it has made a noticeable difference in how I feel by the end of the day.
Being More Intentional About Food
I am not on a strict diet, but I am being more thoughtful about protein, iron, and staying actually hydrated. A good large water bottle I actually like drinking from has helped me hit my water goals much more consistently. Sounds simple, but it works.
Not Over-Researching Everything
The internet is full of information and a lot of it is alarming and a lot of it is contradictory. I have gotten better at reading a thing, asking my doctor if I have an actual question, and then closing the tab. The constant researching was making me anxious and not actually helping me make better decisions.
What are you doing differently this pregnancy, or what do you wish you had done differently? I would genuinely love to know. Leave it in the comments.

So glad you are here. xo, Pam
