The Beauty Bag I Actually Travel With
Packing beauty products for travel used to stress me out. I would overpack, forget something essential, or end up checking a bag just for skincare. After enough trips I have figured out exactly what I need and what I can leave behind, and now I travel with a bag that is genuinely efficient without sacrificing anything I actually use.
Here is exactly what is in my travel beauty bag right now.
The Bag Itself
I use a clear TSA-approved toiletry bag for anything that goes in my carry-on plus a separate small makeup pouch for cosmetics. Clear bags make security a breeze and I can see exactly what is in there without digging. A good travel toiletry bag is easy to find on Amazon. I also use small refillable travel bottles for any products that do not come in travel sizes. Find a set on Amazon.
Skincare I Never Skip
Travel size CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, a small bottle of my vitamin C serum, SPF, and micellar water for makeup removal when I do not want to deal with a full cleanse. Most of these come in travel sizes or I decant them. The CeraVe travel size is available on Amazon.
My Streamlined Makeup
I bring my tinted moisturizer, one concealer, brow gel, mascara, one blush, and a tinted lip balm. That is it. These products cover everything I need for any occasion during a trip without taking up much space. The key is picking multitasking products: the tinted moisturizer doubles as foundation and SPF, the blush goes on cheeks and eyelids.
Hair Essentials
Dry shampoo travel spray, a small bottle of hair oil, and one styling product. I rely on dry shampoo heavily when traveling because blowouts are not always practical. Batiste travel spray is available at most drugstores and on Amazon.
The Things I Stopped Packing
My full foundation, multiple eye palettes, and my big skincare routine. Hotels always have basic soap and I realized I rarely did anything elaborate with my makeup on vacation anyway. Simplifying what I pack has made travel so much more enjoyable.
One Tip That Changed Everything
I keep a dedicated travel pouch already packed with duplicates of my most-used products. When I need to travel I just grab that pouch and add my current products on top. I never scramble to remember what I packed last time.
