World Cup Fan Gear and Accessories Actually Worth Buying

Half the fun of the World Cup is the gear. The flags, the scarves, the silly hats, the face paint, all of it. You do not need much to feel like part of the party, but a few good pieces go a long way, especially if you are headed to a match or hosting at home.

These are the fan accessories I think are actually worth grabbing, no junk that falls apart after one game.

A jersey or team tee

The anchor of any fan look. A soccer jersey or a soft team tee is the one thing I would invest in, because you will wear it all tournament and for years after. Go for the country you love, or your kiddo’s favorite player.

A scarf to wave

Soccer scarves are iconic for a reason. Holding one up during the anthem or a goal is pure stadium magic, and a supporter scarf doubles as a great keepsake and wall decoration afterward. Surprisingly emotional, honestly.

Flags and face accessories

For pure fun, grab a small hand flag, a flag cape, or some face decals in your colors. These are cheap, they make kids feel like part of the action, and they are the stuff great photos are made of.

A great hat

Function meets fandom. A ball cap in your team color keeps the sun off your face and finishes the look. For outdoor matches and the Fan Festival, a hat is not optional in our summer.

Noisemakers, used responsibly

A little clapper or noisemaker brings the energy at a watch party. I will gently say, maybe keep these for the big moments and not the entire ninety minutes, for the sake of everyone’s ears.

Something for the little fans

Do not forget the kids. A mini jersey, a flag to wave, or temporary tattoos in team colors make them feel included and keep them engaged through a long match. Tiny fans are the best fans.

The takeaway

Build your fan kit around one good jersey or tee, add a scarf, a flag, a hat, and a noisemaker, and toss in a few little things for the kids. That is everything you need to look and feel the part, whether you are at Arrowhead or on your own couch.

Wave that flag for me. xo, Pam
